Sandy Springs Manor Home
PROJECT SUMMARY
This highly efficient manor home was built in the Sandy Springs / North Buckhead area of Atlanta on a 1.4 acre parcel of land with a stream passing through it. This 5 bedroom, 4-½ bath estate house is designed in the tudor style using a stone a brick façade.
We installed a rainwater harvest system that was designed to handle all irrigation needs. Through our specifications of insulation, high-efficiency HVAC systems, Energy Star appliances, and tight building envelope we achieved a 46% reduction in energy costs measured against a similar sized non-sustainable but fully up-to-code house.
We used Paperstone counter tops in some of the bathrooms. We like the look of this product and it is a great alternative to concrete counters that patina over time. We also used OSMO polyx oil as the low voc finish on our locally sourced hardwood floors.
